BAGERHAT
Holds a site of an untraced ancient citadel called Khalifabad (could well have other names is earlier times ) accompanying the renewed Saith Gumbad Mosque (60-domed) clearly within this site. Built in 14584, with 77 domes, this is the most magnificent and certainly the largest brick mosque in whole of Bangladesh. The mausoleum in memory of the Muslim mystic Khan Jahan Ali is located here. It has also been declared as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.Ancient Buddhist temple at Ayoddha is not very far from this historic citadel either.
